The INTERNATIONAL RADIO DX GROUP started in 13 March 1994 by IR founder and President VK2IR, Tommy Horozakis, in Sydney/Australia.
At the end of 1997 a "11 Meter Section" was born (see www.irdx.org) which is known as professional DX Group worldwide and acts as bridge to the Ham Section.
Over the years some intreresting DXpeditions took place in the name of International Radio DX Group. Some examples are: N4/VK2IR, N6/VK2IR, J6/VK2IR, 6Y5/VK2IR, 3D2IR, 5W0IR,KH8 /VK2IR , VK2IR/MM , ZL1/VK2IR , ZK1IIR , YJ0IR, SY8AN, all done by or with Tommy VK2IR.
Later on more and more group members participated in DXpeditions under the flag of International Radio DX Group or took part in bigger DXpedition teams. First examples are: TS7N, 4O3T, PZ5ZZ, PZ5CY, FY/MW0ZZK, FY/F4CYZ, TO7IR, V8AQZ, BY7STC/F4CYZ, 9M0/F4CYZ.
In November 2007 we started the new IRDX.net project which is growing every day. Our main goal is to act as bridge between the Ham section and the 11 meter section worldwide. We give our hobby a future doing a joint operation between both sections. You are welcome to join us!
